Setting up categories:
In ResearchManager building blocks are divided in different categories, the names and rights are set up by application managers. They do this on the page Management – Building Block Categories.
On this page the application manager sees an overview of all the set categories. He can change the name of the category, set up whether it should be active and thus available to users, and he can remove categories that do not have building blocks linked to them. Furthermore, he can set up the rights per category. The following options are available:
- Accessible to application managers: Only application managers can put their new building blocks here or can edit existing ones in this category. Everyone is allowed to use building blocks from this category in their study.
- Accessible to application managers and the owner of the building block: Everyone is allowed to make new building blocks in this category. Existing building blocks are only allowed to be edited by application managers and the owner of the concerning building block. Everyone can use building blocks from this category in their study. It is mandatory in this category to add an owner to a building block.
- Accessible to everyone: Everyone is allowed to make new building blocks in this category. Existing building blocks can be edited and added to a study by everyone.
- Private: Everyone in this category is allowed to make a building block, and is then automatically linked as the owner to the building block. Building blocks can only be seen and edited by the user that is the owner of the building block, and by application managers. These users are the only ones allowed to use it in their study.
