Dear reader,
The CTMS of ResearchManager is updated to version 7.3. Please find below the list of added functionalities and improvements. We are happy to answer any questions you may have about the update. For inquiries, please email us at support@myresearchmanager.com.
In short
Among other things in this version:
- Bulk edit in the Budget component
- Export to CSV
Read below for details on all the changes.
New
- Bulk edit in the Budget component
It is now possible to change certain fields for multiple lines in a Budget component.

Select one or more rules for which you want to make the same changes and click the Edit button at the top of the overview.
A pop-up opens with the available fields, which can be changed in bulk:

To change a field, first select one or more fields by checking the box: Edit this field. (The reason for this is so that fields are not accidentally overwritten 'blank' if no value is added, this way it is always clear which fields you are bulk modifying).
Once you have ticked one or more boxes, the field will become editable and you can enter a value. Click Save & Close to make the changes for the selected rules. Don't forget to save the tab!
It is now possible to make an export in a CSV format. Go to Export in the menu bar and select export type: Csv.

The export overview has changed:
If the export contains multiple files, they will be displayed as detail lines. To view it, click on the arrow on the left side of the line. In the detail rows, you'll see a file type icon to download a single file.
In the main row, a zip icon will be displayed to download all files in one archive.
If the export contains a single file, an icon of the file type appears in the row.
The other export options have remained the same.
Improved
-
Add suggested customizable fields to Documents component
To get a quick overview of the changes that have been made to all documents in the Documents section, we have added informative columns to the component:
- Date row added
- Row added by
- Date last
modified- Last modified by
You can add these to the component via Administration – Documents component – Specific properties:

Open the customizable fields dropdown and select one of the new fields. You can set per field whether it is active, so whether you want to use it (they are inactive by default) and whether you want to show the field in the overview (or only in the pop-up when adding a document).
-
Source component as column in documents overview
You can now easily find out which component a document is in if you look at the Document overview component.
You can add these to the component via Administration – Documents component – Specific properties:

Open the columns dropdown and select the Source Component field. You can set whether you want to show this column in the overview.
-
Export template rights: add chapter, subchapter, and component to all rows
We now add the chapter, subchapter and paragraph to each line by default, so that you can use the filters in excel more easily and that every line will appear in your filter from now on.
-
Author in study details enhancement
The Author field can now be added as a merge field to email templates. The Author field is required to be created in process transitions. The Submitter field can now be added as a merge field to Word reports.
-
Condition for a process transition, has been extended for the Approvals component
The following roles can now also be added as a condition in the process transitions: Sponsor, Board of Directors, Proposer, Trial Office, Correspondence and Monitor.
- Both date and time are now shown when approved in the Local Feasibility component.
-
Use custom study details labels in all grid exports
Previously, the original column titles for the Study details component were shown in some places in the exports. If we have adjusted these for you, they will now also be used in export.
-
Option to disable Number of participants in Sites component
If you are not using our EDC or the patient component in CTMS, it is probably not desirable to have the Number of patients column shown in the Sites component. This column can now be disabled. Go to Administration – Component Sies – Specific properties and uncheck the Number of patients field in the dropdown. Click Save & Close.
- Possibility to only show linked users for Questions & Answers
In this version, we have added a new setting for the Question & Answer component, namely Show only linked users for the Question From and Question For field. To set this up, go to Administration – Study template – Question & Answer component – Specific properties.
Check the fields marked in yellow if you only want to see the users who are already linked to the study in the dropdown.
