Dear reader,
The EDC of ResearchManager is being updated to version 7.10. Please find below the list of added functionalities and improvements. We are happy to answer any questions you may have about the update. For inquiries, please email us at support@myresearchmanager.com.
New
- Notification for new queries
Research staff were previously not notified when a new query was created. Monitors or data managers had to inform them manually, or research staff needed to check the Study Tasks page regularly. Notifications can now be triggered when a query is created, answered or closed.
To configure a notification, go to Notifications in the top bar and open Settings. Select Add notification, choose Add filter, filter on Other condition types, and which query types you want the filter to apply to created, answered, or closed. You can then save the filter.
- Query closure tracking
The system previously did not track which user closed a query, nor did it record the corresponding timestamps. As a result, it was not possible to identify who closed a query, and this information was not included in the query export or reporting. For audit‑trail and traceability purposes, clarification was requested on whether this functionality existed or could be enabled. This is now supported.
The overview can be found under CRF → Exports → Queries. The Status column can be used to view answered, closed, and open queries, as well as open comments.
Improved
- Working sets now selectable for CRF export with over 1000 participants
When a study contained more than 1,000 participants, it was not possible to select any working set other than My working set when exporting CRF data. Users should now be able to select all available working sets when exporting CRF data, regardless of the study size.
- Removal of optional 2FA setting in application settings
Two Factor Authentication (2FA) was previously optional and had to be enabled in the application settings. To improve security, 2FA is now always active for all customers, and the option has been removed.
- Removal password strength settings in application settings
Password strength was previously configurable in the application settings. The normal strength option has now been removed, as only the high‑strength level is supported. This change improves security. Existing passwords remain valid, but any expired or reset password will now follow the high‑strength criteria (minimum 8 characters, including lowercase, uppercase, number, and special character).
Bug fixes:
-
In some cases, an incorrect number of patients was displayed in the Export Query grid when multiple sites, or patients from multiple sites, were selected in the Export Patients field for export. This has now been resolved.
