Dear reader,
The EDC of ResearchManager is being updated to version 7.6. Please find below the list of added functionalities and improvements. We are happy to answer any questions you may have about the update. For inquiries, please email us at support@myresearchmanager.com.
In short
Among other things in this version:
- Filenames now included in eCRF exports.
- Changes in single and multiple answer options enabled.
- Support for Multiple Email Address Types in Patient Self Service (PSS).
- Various bugs fixed, including readability of CRF data import instructions and application of saved export filters.
- Read below for details on all the changes.
New
-
Filenames of attached files now included in eCRF exports
Previously, filenames of attachments added through file components were not displayed in the eCRF data export (CRF > Exports > CRF), making it difficult to verify whether all required files were uploaded for each participant. The Excel export now includes the filenames of attached files, providing a clearer overview of uploaded documents. -
Allow changes in single and multiple answer options
Answer options can be defined for single answer (SA) and multiple answer (MA) components. Previously, it was no longer possible to change the description, tag (MA) and scores of the answer options once data had been entered. From now on, answer options remain editable even when data is already entered. -
Support for Multiple Email Address Types in Patient Self Service (PSS)
The PSS module now supports multiple email address types per participant.
This allows different study participants (for example, a parent and child) to each receive their own study materials, invitations, and login details — all managed under a single patient record. You can now:
- Define and manage multiple email address types (e.g., Parent, Child, Caregiver).
- Link each email type to specific subchapters or schedules.
- Assign individual information email templates per type.
- Track all actions by email type in the audit trail.
- Duplicate studies with all email type settings preserved.
Example use case:
A single patient record can include both a child’s and a parent’s email address. The child receives their diary or survey, while the parent receives their consent form — ensuring each participant gets the correct communication automatically. For detailed setup instructions and examples, see the full manual.
Bug fixes:
- Previously, the Recipient field on the mail log page was case-sensitive in EDC, CTMS, and ERMS, which could cause inconsistencies when filtering or searching for email addresses. The field is now case-insensitive, ensuring all matches are found regardless of letter casing.
Empty chapters and paragraphs no longer shown in CRF export settings
Previously, empty subchapters and paragraphs were incorrectly selected in the Export components list when applying saved settings on the CRF Export page, even if they were not part of the saved configuration. Now, items are correctly checked after selecting export filter settings, and empty chapters, subchapters, and paragraphs are no longer displayed in the dropdown.Previously, when selecting a file during CRF data import, the example image overlapped part of the on-screen instructions, making them difficult to read unless the page was significantly zoomed out. The instructions are now clearly visible and fully readable when a file is selected.
